The following libraries are included:
1) Italian Harpsichord
The Italian Harpsichord library contains a historical harpsichord built in 1579 by Pierluigi in Livorno. It is a classic example of how Italian harpsichords were built for about 200 years. The Pierluigi harpsichord stands out because of its fundamental, sonorous warm and deep tone.
Like all harpsichords, the Pierluigi is not touch-sensitive. However, no note will sound exactly the same due to different resonances of body and strings. We captured the sound with eight samples per note. Furthermore, we recorded four key release sounds per key. The instrument was captured in its original meantone tuning at 383 Hz (presets in Equal Temperament at 440 Hz are included as well).
The sample library contains nearly 550 single recordings.
2) Italian Harpsichord II
The Italian Harpsichord II library features an instrument built around 1590 by an anonymous maker, in special babinet. It delivers a slick, majestic and slinky tone.
Like all harpsichords, the keys are not touch-sensitive. However, no note will sound exactly the same due to different resonances of body and strings. We captured the sound with eight samples per note. Furthermore, we recorded four key release sounds per key. The instrument was captured in its original Kirnberger III-tuning at 378 Hz (presets in Equal Temperament at 440 Hz are included as well).
The sample library contains nearly 550 single recordings.
3) Italian Harpsichord III
The Italian Harpsichord III library provides an instrument built around 1690. Offering 3 sounds - front and rear 8' stop plus both together - it allows for traditional rich and slick Italian harpsichord tone with additional flexibility. The gentle 2x8' combination sports inspiring and complex harmonics.
Like all harpsichords, the keys are not touch-sensitive. However, no note will sound exactly the same due to different resonances of body and strings. We captured the sound with eight samples per note. Furthermore, we recorded four key release sounds per key. The instrument was captured in its original Kirnberger III-tuning at 382 Hz (presets in Equal Temperament at 440 Hz are included as well).
The sample library contains over 1.600 single samples.
